Choosing Sides By Bishop Julius C. Trimble
Choosing Sides By Bishop Julius C. Trimble
It seems as though we are always being asked to choose sides. Left or right, a day person or a night owl, a progressive or conservative. A free thinker or a person of deep religious faith. Are you a patriotic American or a critic of this democratic experiment? Are you a Jesus only person?
What is you ethnicity, race, preferred pronouns? It is as if all of the advertising, and platforms and people influencers are trying to divide us into two groups; “Insiders and outsiders”
Or maybe we are all expected to strive to in the “On top group verses the bottom always struggling.
I wrote a poem several years ago entitled “Bumper Sticker Truth.”
I vowed never to be one of those persons with bumperstikers all over their vehicles. “No bumper stikers for me. Then one day I saw a car with this bumper sticker; “Human-Kind” be both.
What are the choices you feel you are being forced to make? Pray for discernment and grace from God!
Be Encouraged
